Lorraine Harpole; Kennel Supervisor
Lorraine has been working at Cascade since 2008 as a kennel technician. At the beginning of the 2011 summer she was promoted to Kennel Supervisor. She earned her bachelors degree in Zoology at Washington State University. In her free time Lorraine enjoys reading novels and hiking with her husband, Brian, and their dog Maya.
Victoria Sandell; Kennel Technician
Victoria has been working at Cascade since 2008. She started in our exercise department and has since moved up to being a Kennel Technician. Victoria is currently going to college working towards her Bachelors of the Arts Degree. In her spare time she loves to go camping with her Doberman named Walker.
Sadie Ford; Kennel Technician
Sadie joined our staff in November 2011 and was quickly promoted to kennel technician. She has distinguished herself by completing a veterinary assistant program and by having an uncanny ability to calm dogs with just her presence. We like having her around too! Sadie shares her home with her three dogs Grizzly, Remington and Winchester.
Ariana Sawyer; Kennel Technician
Ariana was a welcome addition to our kennel staff just in time for summer 2012. Ariana brought with her a lengthy resume of animal care including a number of years working as a kennel technician in a commercial boarding kennel and caring for animals as diverse as dogs, wallabies and a zebra at a private ranch. Ariana always has fun at her job because caring for animals is what she loves doing and it doesn’t feel like work to her.
Bri McCloskey; Kennel Technician
Bri began working with Cascade in the fall of 2013. Originally from the Boise, Idaho area, she moved to Washington last summer to work on a degree in Biology with an emphasis in animal behavior. She has completed an internship at Zoo Boise in Idaho, where she had the opportunity to work with interesting animals including red pandas, binturongs, giraffes, and many more. Between her internship and her volunteer work, Bri learned a great deal about the care and behavior of animals. Bri’s pets include her dog Oscar, a tortoise, and a Quaker parrot named CeCe. In her spare time she enjoys camping and traveling to zoos.
Violet Murphy; Kennel Technician
Violet began working with Cascade in the fall of 2013.

Jessica Baker; Kennel Tech Assistant
Jessica is a fisheries and wildlife major at Oregon State University. Her prior work experience includes work as a Kennel Assistant in a veterinary hospital specializing in exotic pets. In addition Jessica held a position caring for horses and sensitively guiding their interaction with disabled children. She has a particular interest in fields related to wildlife, animals and children as demonstrated by her work. We are fortunate to have Jessica on our kennel staff for the summer 2012 season and for future holiday breaks.

Leander Darwent-Rice; Cattery Technician
Originally a customer, we welcomed Leander early this summer 2012 as a kennel staff member dedicated to the cattery. She loves soaking up the sense of calm generated by caring for cats. Outside of work, Leander has volunteered for a number of years as a cat adoption counselor and keeps busy with her family activities.
