Maggie Behr began her 20 plus years of dog training experience in 1991 as an apprentice at a well-known Puget Sound area dog obedience school. Following those early years of education and training, Maggie built her own dog training business specializing in private in-home training. Her work encompasses competition obedience, pet therapy dog training, volunteer work with aggressive dogs and rescue dogs as well as leadership training for the people in our dogs’ lives.
Maggie is originally from the Midwest growing up just outside of Chicago sharing her life with an assortment of animals from dogs and cats to reptiles, rodents and birds. She has a B.A. degree in Communications which translates to excellent people skills while working with her clients during training. She relocated to the Seattle area in 1989 and currently lives in the caretaker’s residence on the Cascade Kennels property with her three dogs, Elsa, Viney and Pebbles. Maggie’s love of animals has kept her closely connected to dogs as her life’s work.
Maggie is on the preferred trainer list for Invisible Fence Northwest and is recommended as a dog trainer by numerous local pet supply stores and veterinarians. Maggie’s main goal for her clients has always been for them to bond more closely to their dogs through positive, gentle, reward-based training methods that result in a well-trained dog and a well-informed dog owner.
Maggie is available to assist in a wide variety of dog training arrangements including group classes, both private and in-home private lessons and Cascade Kennels’ Board and Train program. She can be reached by telephone at 425-483-9333, ext. 101 or via email.
