We thought we might give you an idea of what the people behind the scenes here are like, so meet Lorraine and her heeler mix, Maya! Lorraine is our Kennel Manager and Assistant Operational Manager. In other words, she does just about everything, but mostly she sees to it that your dog or cat is happy, healthy and well fed! Lorraine is an animal lover and shameless bookworm, which makes it unsurprising that she’s got a bachelors degree in Zoology from WSU under her belt. Maya and Lorraine are avid hikers, and love to tackle the trail around Baker Lake whenever they can. The only thing Maya doesn’t like about hiking is taking breaks and turning back. When she’s not out exploring, Maya enjoys her part-time job as a babysitter to Lorraine’s husband and turtle. Currently Lorraine’s favorite treat is crackers and goat cheese, whereas Maya is thrilled by just about anything that could even remotely be labeled as “treat” or “cookie.” Lucky for Maya, Lorraine loves to experiment with baking, cooking and do-it-yourself projects that sometimes result in tasty things for dogs!
