GREAT DOG PARKS FOR MY SMALLER CANINE FRIENDS

Hi, Finley here,

Summer is finally here! I’m going to give ya’ll a rundown of the parks that cater to us big dogs in small packages! That’s right, there are actually parks specially designated for the little guys to play. How awesome is that?! So anyway, I did some digging (hehehe, get it?!) and found some GREAT places where you can take your smaller pooch for some play time!

GOLDEN GARDENS PARK

8498 Seaview PL NW Seattle

The best thing about Golden Gardens is that the small dog park tends to stay pretty dry even when the rest gets wet. Yay for us! There is a big fence that separates the small dog park from the big dog park, which makes it really nice for your smaller dog to feel comfortable. There’s also a place inside the park for your pooch to quench his thirst plus trails, a picnic area and restrooms.

WARREN G. MAGNUSON PARK

NW 74th Street Seattle

You’ll find the small dog area at Warren G. Magnuson Park just inside the gate at the south end of the park. This makes it easy for your little pooch to steer clear of “the big guys.” There’s a grassy area to play and some water if they like to swim. The park also provies a water source for your pooch and benches and lawn chairs for your people. 8498 Seaview PL NW Seattle.

LUTHER BURBANK DOG PARK

2040 84th Ave SE Mercer Island, WA

This park is AWESOME! It has the Biggest Small-dog area around. There’s even a place where you can give your pooch a bath if he or she needs it. There’s a place for your dog to drink water when he’s thirsty, and a swimming hole in the main area of the park. Not to mention; there are conveniences for your humans too….. like bathrooms!

JASPER’S DOG PARK

11301 NE 120th Street Kirkland, WA

This park is one of the newer ones in the area. The small dog park has lots of trees and shade and benches for your human. Goodness knows how they tire out. It stays pretty dry here all year too! Great for avoiding that “wet-dog-smell,” which we dogs love but our humans… not so much!

WESTCREST DOG PARK

9000 8th Ave SW Seattle, WA

I hear this place is a little gem in West Seattle. The area for your small pooch is pretty big, it stays dry, and even has a small “forest” for your pooch to explore without wandering off from you. There’s stuff for humans too, like restrooms and trash cans and paths for hiking.

No matter where you live around here, there seems to be a great dog park for the little guys! Hooray for the Pacific Northwest and all its doggy amenities, am I right??

Until next time,
